This is the time of year when all you lucky ‘Snowbirds’ are here in Arizona, especially here in the East Valley! The town of Gold Canyon, for instance, is situated at the foot of the stunning Superstition Mountains (way out east on US 60), and it comes alive with all sorts of activities for everyone!
There are events such as the Renaissance Festival beginning on February 8th, with all that hustle and bustle! There are old car shows occasionally in the Basha’s parking lot. There’s always stunning vistas, sunsets and wonderful hiking experiences on the many trails of Silly Mountain, Peralta Trail, Hieroglyphic Trail and many more.
The community of Mountainbrook Village, for instance, always has multiple things going on all the time! The Village Players will present the comedy, ‘Lover’s Leap’, which will be presented beginning February 27th and ending March 2nd in the Superstition Center on Mountainbrook Drive. If you have never attended one of their plays, it’s about time you did! Last year was the production of ‘Let’s Murder Marsha’, and it was a hit! Our grandchildren even loved it! You will never laugh so much, as the Mountainbrook Village Players do their magic! The tickets are still only $10 and well worth it, many times over. Visit or call the Mountainbrook office, at 480-983-5555 for details of where to purchase your tickets. The office is on Mountainbrook Drive just across from the amazing Mountainbrook Golf Course.
The Mountainbrook Village Voices will be presenting their spring concert on March 14th and 15th, also in the Superstition Center. Each year gets better as they present a wonderful concert of inspiring music. There are some incredible voices, especially listen for the mellow voice of Phyllis Saxton!
Treat yourself, your friends and family to some great activities and lots of laughter and amazing music in beautiful Gold Canyon! Enjoy!
