From Farm-Town to Unique Down-Town — That’s my best description of the evolution of downtown Gilbert, Arizona over the past 30 years. I have personally watched as the community has morphed from a residential-rural town to a well managed city.
Like most other towns, Gilbert has occasionally suffered under misguided political influence in city administration. BUT, unlike most other rapidly growing municipalities, the leadership, with ample citizen input, has managed to create a highly desirable bedroom community around unique, high quality downtown business district.
The Hale Theatre, just across from the landmark water tower, is a successful privately owned enterprise that brings live performance buffs from all over the valley. Most of it’s shows are sold out in advance. Find them at www.haletheatrearizona.com.
Oregano’s, Joes Barbecue, Liberty Market, Postino’s, Joy Ride Taco House, and several other wonderful restaurants form an impressive group of dining choices, all in downtown Gilbert. Get there early, however, the lines are often long.
Heritage Court Office Building on Cullumber and Gilbert Road, is a well designed complex of small to large offices combined with retail outlets. You can rent small offices at the executive suites, www.azoffices.com, or much larger spaces. Norton’s Furniture is one of the finest furniture outlets in all of the east valley. You will find only the best selections of home furnishings there.
Well, I could go on and on about this little community. I have been in the commercial and residential real estate business for many many years and have seldom found a more impressive town. If you can’t live here, at least visit. You will not be disappointed.
