Here we are – again! Already, it’s the beginning of another New Year, with so many New Year Resolutions we’ve made and are determined to follow and commit to!
What happened to the resolutions we all made last year? How did you do with yours? How did I do with mine, you ask? Well, some worked and some didn’t. It all boils down to how badly we all really want to make changes in our minds and in our lives, right?
I found a formula that works for me and it may for you, too! You have nothing to lose, so try it!
One of the main problems is that we make too many resolutions and, thus we can’t focus on any of them. It’s better to make one or two and stick with them. Don’t make it impossible to make any changes by over-burdening yourself.
And – you must reward yourself for doing a great job with them!
For instance, one of my resolutions is to be more conscious of the food I choose to eat, thus shedding a few pounds in order to feel better and more healthy. When I succeed in shedding a few, I’ll perhaps choose to eat something, that I really love, that isn’t necessarily the most healthy, but I do reward myself and then jump right back on my more sensible program. That way my mind and body are not feeling constantly deprived and it’s much more rewarding.
It’s so much more difficult when we try changing anything on our own. Having a spouse, sibling or friend to assist and support or actually join you in the process makes it much more rewarding and we’re much more successful in all our resolutions.
So, make it a wonderfully successful beginning by being positive and look forward to just a couple of resolutions, instead of over-burdening yourself with so many! You’ll be amazed at how successful you’ll feel! Happy New Year!!!
